The beach forms part of the Pembrey Country Park and is described as "eight miles of golden sands edged by a belt of sand dunes", and backed by a pine forest. Cefn Sidan has a long history of use by naturists but it has faced some controversy and the local council still continues to discourage it. Signs at the entrance to the Blue Flag beach and literature given out at Pembrey Country Park state nudity is not permitted. The council also say that rangers will always call the police to deal with any incidents of nudity on the beach. But the beach is unofficially listed on several independent nudist websites.

So whether you call them clothes free, naturist or nudist beaches there are plenty in and around Exeter to visit during the hot weather. Many of the beaches are well established and if you follow local rules and regulations you should be able to stay out of trouble.
It is a little bit of a ramble to get there and the pebbles and shingle may not be very forgiving to naturists. The secluded nature of the beach means that it is still very popular and the right hand side of the beach has been allocated to nudists. Its location means that there is nothing in the way of facilities at the beach.
