In social justice work, in order to keep from being overwhelmed and getting burned out, we need to celebrate even small victories, and today was more than just a small victory, it was a huge one. Kitsap County joined folks around the nation in celebrating with at least two Bremerton bars hosting. The Supreme Court decision has far reaching impacts, and it is hard to know where to begin. However, I found some statements from a variety of organizations that I thought worth sharing. I have been working towards marriage equality for about 15 years, and many folks have been doing more for longer.

Monday June 20th, 6: We will be talking about how the events in Orlando have profoundly affected us, and we will get some information about I and the Washington Won't Discriminate group organizing against its passage. Most importantly, come to our meeting! We hold a monthly conversation and often it's just a few of us who enjoy talking to each other and we gab over coffee for a while.
A Bremerton teenager claiming she was kicked out of her private Christian school after "coming out" as a lesbian says she is surprised and disappointed. She says the school has told her she is no longer welcome. Her mother has been a teacher at the school.
